मध्यप्रदेश में 11 अलग अलग कृषि जलवायू जोन है। देश में दालों की कुल पैदावार का 25.3% चने का 36% हिस्सा मध्य प्रदेश में आता है।
लहसुन, हरा धनियाँ, चना, दाल, कुल तिलहन, सोयाबीन,का सबस बड़ा उत्पादक मध्य प्रदेश है. कुल खाद्यान (44470 हजार मीट्रिक टन) उत्पादन में मध्य प्रदेश का तीसरा स्थान तथा कुल राई सरसों के उत्पादन (748 हजार मीट्रिक टन) में दूसरा स्थान है।
मूंगफली खरीफ की फसल है, जो तेल ओर भोज्य पदार्थ दोनों के उगाई लिए जाती है। मध्यप्रदेश में मूंगफली का उत्पादन मालवा का पठार नर्मदा घाटी के निम्न क्षेत्रो में होता है। मध्य प्रदेश का मूंगफली उत्पादन क्षेत्र के हिसाब छठवाँ से स्थान है।
तिलहनी फसलों में अलसी मध्य प्रदेश की एक महत्वपूर्ण आदेश में मध्य प्रदेश उत्पादन में अग्रणी है। मध्यप्रदेश में बालाघाट में अधिकांशत: अलसी का उत्पादन होता है।
